What the cabin looked like when we bought it.
Truth be told we put a contract on the property one day before we were able to get inside the cabin. But we had been to the property and walked around it pretty throughly. We checked out the structure from the outside and then when we met with our realtor the following day and were able to get inside. He was impressed with how well it was holding up after being abandoned for thirty years.
We are still trying to glean information from a neighbor who helped build the cabin. W
Our main questions are what happened with the owner and why did the owner suddenly stop construction. We bought the property from his son and daughter.
Here are the interior photos taken by the listing agent. The red tape deck helps age the structure. There was a pile of discarded wood in a wheelbarrow which housed a family of mice.
Photos of our first visit to the property to scout it out in July. We brought Liam along for our first three or four visits.
Left side of the house, back and driveway. We hope the ferns come back.
Interior of our first visit revealed a solid structure full of mouse and bird droppings.
Upstairs loft has a good amount of headroom. The stairs are very steep and a little soft in places.
Looking better by this point. I was thankful for the $10 shop vacuums (two!) which we bought from a woman on Facebook Marketplace.
